Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, please write to us.
Eligibility & language
Who can apply to the Summer School?
Our programmes are open to final-year undergraduates, graduate students, early-career professionals and researchers. The Junior Summer School is aimed at pupils aged 15–18. Some advanced tracks have additional prerequisites, listed on each programme page.
What language is the Summer School taught in?
All instruction is delivered in English. Reading materials are provided in English; we are able to support questions and one-to-one discussion in Romanian, German and Swedish.
Cost & funding
What does the fee cover, and are there scholarships?
Fees vary by programme and cover tuition, course materials and selected meals during the programme. Accommodation is available on campus at additional cost. A limited number of need-based scholarships and partial discounts are awarded each year — see the Apply page for details.
Can my organisation sponsor a participant or propose a topic?
Yes. We work with companies, foundations and public bodies that wish to sponsor places, host a guest lecture or fund a custom track. Please see the Apply page for sponsorship enquiries.
Application & certification
How does the application process work?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until each cohort is full. You will need a CV, a short statement of interest and proof of academic or professional qualifications. Selected programmes also require one letter of recommendation or a small portfolio of prior work.
Will I receive a certificate or academic credit?
All participants who complete the programme receive a certificate of completion. Academic credit transfer is possible at the discretion of your home institution; we are happy to provide syllabi and contact hours documentation on request.
